Women of Wai'anae Welcomes the Peace Boat to Hawaii!

On July 19, 2014, the Women of Wai'anae raised scholarship funds by hosting approximately 50 members of the Peace Boat in a cultural exchange. Our members taught the guests, mostly from Japan, how to dance hula, make flower or ti leaf leis, laulaus and Hawaiian quilts. In exchange the vistors taught us origami and Japanese folk songs. The gathering ended with a home cooked Hawaiian luau dinner.
