Women of Waianae Host Peace Boat Passengers From Japan
On July 12, 2015, the Women of Waianae hosted 27 passengers from the japanese Peace Boat in a cultural exchange at the Ka'aha'aina Cafe in Waianae. After greeting our guests with shell leis, we showed them how to string plumeria leis, to dance hula and treated them to an original hawaiaan luau. They were entertained to the music of crystal singing bowls and a local vendor brought handmade shell jewelry for their purchase. In return, our guests sang several japanese folk songs to us. Although the day was very hot and humd, no one seemed to mind and it was a wonderful time had by all! Please enjoy the video!
